 Notice of Reading Promotion Week – 1

Date: 1st to 7th August 2025

The School Library of PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Sundargarh is delighted to announce the celebration of Reading Promotion Week – 1 from 1st August to 7th August 2025. This week aims to encourage the joy of reading, creativity, and expression among our students through a series of exciting competitions and activities.

Schedule of Activities

• 01.08.2025 – Storytelling Competition
  Students of Classes 3–8 will narrate their favourite stories from books they have read.

• 02.08.2025 – Bookmark Making Competition
  Students of Classes 6–8 will design unique bookmarks inspired by their favourite characters or books.

• 04.08.2025 – Poem Recitation Competition
  Students of Classes 3–8 will recite poems in English or Hindi.

• 05.08.2025 – Drawing Competition
  Students of Classes 3–8 will create artworks inspired by their favourite stories and characters.

• 06.08.2025 – Words Per Minute Competition
  Students of Classes 3–8 will read aloud for one minute with correct pronunciation and fluency.

• 07.08.2025 – Book Review Writing Competition
  Students of Classes 6–8 will write reviews of books they have read during library periods.

General Guidelines

• All activities for the Primary Wing (Classes 3–5) will be organised by the respective in-charges and reported to the Overall In-charge (Librarian).

• Activities for the Secondary Wing (Classes 6–8) will be conducted in the library during the 3rd and 4th periods.

• The preferred languages are English and Hindi.

• Three winners will be selected from each activity and group.

This special week is an opportunity for students to showcase their creativity, reading skills, and love for books. Let’s come together to make Reading Promotion Week – 1 a grand success!
