 Pustakopahar 2025: Share Knowledge, Spread Joy!

Our school is thrilled to announce Pustakopahar 2025 — a heartwarming Book Exchange Program organized in the PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sundargarh. This initiative is designed to foster the love of reading, encourage sustainable learning, and create a culture of sharing among students.




📍 Event Details:
  • Venue: School Library

  • Date: 26th March to 2nd April, 2025

  • Participants: All students

🎯 Aim of Pustakopahar: The goal of this initiative is to promote reading habits, resource sharing, and sustainability. By exchanging books, students get the chance to explore new subjects, discover new stories, and experience the joy of giving and receiving knowledge.

📘 What is Pustakopahar? ‘Pustakopahar’ translates to “The Gift of Books”. It is an opportunity for students to donate books they’ve outgrown and pick up books they’re eager to explore. This cycle of sharing not only reduces waste but also ensures books continue to educate and inspire others.

📚 Accepted Book Categories: Students are encouraged to bring books that fall under these categories:

  • NCERT Textbooks — Only for Classes I, II, III, VI, IX, X, XI, XII

  • Course Books — Reference books, academic subjects, guides

  • Storybooks — Fiction, adventure, fantasy, fables

  • General Books — Biographies, motivational books, and knowledge-based books

Books Not Accepted:

  • Torn, damaged, or scribbled books

  • Outdated syllabus books

  • Magazines, comics, newspapers

  • Non-academic competitive exam books

📌How to Submit Books

Step 1 : Collect Your Books
  • Select books that are in good condition and useful for others.
  • Ensure no missing pages, excessive scribbles, or damage.
Steps 2: Visit the Library for Submission
  • The book submission window is open from 26th March to 4th April.
  • Books should be wrapped in a paper and details like Name, Class, Section, Number & Name of the Books must be written at the top.
  • Students must submit books to the Librarian/Class Teacher and provide their name, class and book details in the submission register.
  • A Pustakopahar Token will be issued for each accepted book.
Step 3 : Redeem Books on 5th April 2025
  • On the Event Day, bring your Pustakopahar Token to the Library.
  • Browse the available books and choose the one you like.
  • Submit the token at the counter to complete the exchange.

  • Share the Joy: Your old book could be someone’s new favorite.

  • Promote Sustainability: Reusing books reduces waste and supports eco-friendliness.

Important Notes:

  • Books Submission is mandatory for participating in the exchange.
  • Students can submit multiple books and get an equal number of tokens.
  • Only books approved by the Librarian will be accepted.

Our school library became a bustling hub of excitement, where students from Classes 3 to 8 eagerly participated in a variety of fun-filled and thought-provoking activities.


🎉 A Week Full of Literary Adventures: Throughout the week, the library witnessed an impressive display of talent and passion. Students transformed into captivating storytellers, bringing characters to life with expressive voices and vibrant emotions. They also unleashed their creativity through beautifully designed bookmarks and stunning drawings inspired by their favorite books. Meanwhile, young readers turned into insightful critics, analyzing stories and sharing valuable reflections during the Book Review Competition. The Words Per Minute Competition showcased their reading fluency and comprehension skills, emphasizing that reading is not only about speed but also clarity and understanding.



Why These Activities Matter: Each activity was designed to enrich students’ academic and personal growth. From enhancing critical thinking to fostering creativity and confidence, these events encouraged students to explore new perspectives — all while having fun!
