The Reading Promotion Week – 1 at PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Sundargarh began with a vibrant Story Telling Competition on 1st August 2025. Students from Classes 3 to 8 participated enthusiastically, narrating their favourite stories from the books they had read in the library.
The competition was organised under the guidance of Mr. Sunil Prasad, Librarian, along with Ms. Bijay Laxmi Parida (TGT-Sanskrit) and Mr. Jogeshwar Meher (PRT). The event was conducted group-wise for Classes 3–5 and 6–8, giving equal opportunities to showcase talent.

Students confidently narrated tales filled with imagination, humour, and life lessons.

Many participants used expressions, gestures, and voice modulation to bring their stories alive.

One student narrated a folk tale with such enthusiasm that it felt like watching a live play. The expressions and energy left everyone applauding loudly.
🏆 Outcome:
The judges appreciated the storytelling skills, clarity of language, and confidence of the participants. Winners were declared from each group, and all participants were praised for their efforts.

✨ Conclusion:
The Story Telling Competition not only encouraged students to read more books but also gave them a platform to express themselves. It was indeed a perfect start to the Reading Promotion Week – 1, inspiring young readers to step into the magical world of stories.
