📘 LIBRARY BLOG: ORIENTATION SESSION ON NIRF 2025 – EMPOWERING STUDENTS TO MAKE INFORMED COLLEGE CHOICES
The Library of PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sundargarh organized an informative session for Classes XI and XII on the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025, released by the Government of India. The session aimed to guide senior students in making well-informed decisions while selecting colleges and streams after Class XII.
Through real-time browsing of the NIRF portal, students explored how to compare colleges by category, such as Engineering, Management, Law, Medicine, and overall university ranking. The presentation also highlighted the new features of NIRF 2025, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) category and the revised evaluation system ensuring greater transparency.
The importance of NIRF for students was emphasized, showing how it helps them:
-
Make data-driven college choices based on authentic government rankings.
-
Understand institutional strengths in teaching, research, and placements.
-
Align their career interests and academic goals with the right college.
Students actively participated, asked questions about their preferred fields, and expressed appreciation for this valuable guidance session. The session concluded with the message that “Informed decisions lead to empowered futures.”
